Meet Erik
Erik believes in the phrase “A Jack of Trades, is a master of none, but often times better than a master of one.” He enjoys pushing the limits of his capabilities with everything he does.
Blacksmithing and Chainmail are the most recent additions to his skill set and interests, as he explores older fabrication techniques. He believes that it’s as important to know how technology developed to continue pushing it’s boundaries into the future. And maybe he is learning how to express himself through metal as a medium.
Erik learned to TIG weld aluminum for the Ford Ranger TDI Project, taking his prior knowledge of TIG welding steel and practicing until he felt comfortable enough to do the real thing. He does not claim to have the prettiest welds, but they are consistent and have been pressure tested to be functional. He is happy with that, and knows his skills will develop further as he continues to practice and get more experience.
Engineering
Erik received his Bachellors in Mechatronics Engineering from CSU, Chico in 2016. To him engineering is a way to view the world.
Yoga
Erik started his yoga practice during his first year at Chico, and hasn’t looked back. In 2019 he got his teaching certificate and started to give back to the community that gave him so much.
Art
Growing up in a technical house hold, getting into art has been a huge area of personal growth. Learning how to express himself in more pure forms has been an amazing journey of self-discovery.
